Nordic Countries FCI

Groups and classes - (look above), the only difference is the choosing of Best of each sex. Not only the Class winner - but the 4 best of each Class with qualification excellent are invited for the Choice for CAC - or CACIB Diagram

SHOW

 

- International

Advertised as such a show, according to the rules. Award of CACIB and CAC. Qualifying for the Int. & Nat. Champion Title.

- National

Advertised as such a show, according to the rules. Award of CAC. Qualifying for the Nat. Champion Title.

- Club Show

or Club Match. The most important Show of a Club. Often only for the breed or breeds which belong to this club. Most of them award the CAC for the National Title. In Switzerland the BCS Clubshow is held once a year.

Natlional Specialty

In countries with several OES Clubs - held once a year. Like USA, Australia. The venue is varied every year.

FCI

Fédération Cynologique Internationale - about 70 countries are members in many continents. They have agreements with the English Kennel Club, The American Kennel Club and others too. They are in charge of: Standards, confirmation of the International Champion Title, Regulations & bylaws, confirmation of Kennel names.

SKG

Die Schweizerisch Kynologische Gesellschaft Swiss Kennel Club. Association of about 400 Clubs or Societies, six other Canine associations and 18 communities of Interest. They have about 66'000 Members. Full Member of FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale).

CAC-J

Junior CAC; Award for the Title : Junior Beauty Champion of (country)

Res. Junior CAC; goes to the Exc. 2 Dog/Bitch in the Junior Class

CAC-Veteran

Veteran-CAC; Award for the Title : Veteran Beauty Champion of (country)

CAC-Veteran Res.

Res. Veteran CAC; goes to the Exc.2 Dog/Bitch in Veteran Class.

CACIB

Handler

The exhibitor handling the dog could be the owner of the dog or a professional handler, who gets paid for to show the dog.

Junior Handling

Competitions for Teenagers (or younger) who show different breeds. For once it's not the quality of the dog that is important - it's how good a handler shows and presents his dog. 2 classes of age with earning Points. The best of the year is invited to attend the Junior Handling Final at Crufts. Information in German

Pedigree - Family tree - Bloodline

Gives information about the parents and grandparents of a dog or more generations. This document also shows any Champion Titles and Health certificates could be listed. Should be approved by FCI.

Ribbons

In some countries the dog gets ribbons. The colour shows the qualification and / or placings. Additional ribbons for Award of CAC, CACIB and BOB. Often seen in the Nordic countries and Austria.

Standard

Is a description of the breed, which describes in great detail the dog and all his attributes and also outlines as well type, character and faults. FCI has one Standard per Breed - the country of origin writes it. They will be translated and published in 4 languages. Standard OES
