Angelina

She almost reached her 15th Birthday. Angie was such a lovely dog to live with - always the middle of the family and action. But she seems happier to live as a single dog in the family to be the Princess. That's why she moved to wonderful friends when she was 4 years old. Hard step for us, but it was the right thing for her. We could see this every time we visited them. Even at her very last day we could be there and it seems she had waited for us to come to say Goodbye. We will see us at the other side of the Rainbow. Many thanks must go to Sylvia and Freddy who made such a wonderful home for her.

Percy

For some considerable time we already knew that the day would come to say 'goodbye' but our Percy didn't want to quit and he loved his life with us and his friends. He was a fighter and full of positive energy. Maybe that's why he reached such a good age - next Dec. he would have been 14. It's so nice that he kept his personality until the last day. He knew exactly what was going on, could hear when the iceberg lettuce was being prepared in the kitchen, as he loved to have a few pieces. He still could see clearly and his nose was working perfectly. He always knew exactly when a bitch was ready to mate and he was in love once again. He was so sweet and gentle with his great grand children and loved to snuggle up to nuzzle them.

Percy was a very special dog and he had many fans too. He let you know when he needed a hug and stayed beside you staring you out until you abandoned your work to spend time fussing and petting him. Until old age he stole whatever he could from the kitchen and even dog 'nannys' "Lebkuchen heart" that she bought for her boyfriend did not escape Percy. Nothing was sacred. If you realised something was missing you then found the thief on the sofa and the "corpus delicti" under his front paw.

Percy was also a very nice and gentle dog. We celebrated his wonderful success in the show ring and he gave his own positive characteristics to his children, and children's children. He will continue to live in them, in our memory, and in our hearts. We can still feel his last kisses drying our faces, wet with tears, as he tried to console us on the last morning at the vets. We are endlessly grateful to have known the privilege of sharing our life with him.

Jolene

Unser erstes MANROSE Puppy.

Show Best Puppy in Show.

15.11.1999 - 27.07.2013

Donna

From birth we knew that she was something special. Our dear friends, Kati and Karci, who waited such a long time for a showdog from our Kennel realised that too. For Donna we would never have been able to find a better home. She was loved so very much and wonderfully cared for, so she was quickly very successful in the Show Ring too. There she confirmed that she was an exceptional bitch. Donna became a Junior Champion and later she added 9 different Champion Titles to her Record. She had extraordinary success at the Euro OES Shows: 2001 Best Baby Bitch, 2002 Best European Junior, 2003 Best European Open, 2004 Best in Show, 2010 Best Veteran in Show.

Donna has brought to our MANROSE kennel every conceivable honour. She had such a wonderful temperament that attracted everyone and drew them close and so her memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew her. To the very last she looked wonderful and was a great compliment to her owners. She left this world completely unexpectedly at the age of 12 ¼. We share the pain of this huge loss with Kati and Karci and can’t thank them enough for their care of Donna.

Tom

Son of Tabby, born in Obfelden 1999 next to the whelping box of Yazzy’s Puppies. He really was half dog/half cat. Tom loved to be with “his” dogs, to lean on them and sleep close by them and to welcome them back home by walking through their front legs until he was licked by them. These are the wonderful memories and pictures that stay forever in our minds. When we had Puppies he would 'miaow' until he finally could go into the Whelping room and was allowed to enter the Whelping Box. There he loved to be and he lay in between the Puppies and allowed them all to do what they wanted and was “purring' full of joy. With Devil – his grand dad - he had wild games through the whole house and then having a rest together he loved to be cleaned by him and to lie close to each other. Tom also loved to be outside in our fenced Garden or at the Balcony. He also loved to lie in the dog’s bed with all the dogs’ toys. In his last years his favourite place was to sleep on Manfred’s Pillow. Only 9 months after the loss of Tabby, he had followed her. We were absolutely not prepared for this and it was completely unexpected, as we had hoped he would also reach the great age that his feline family did – but it was not to be. So we could only remember the wonderful times we had together.

16.06.1999 - 14.04.2012

Kissy

Sadly the time came when Kissy followed her long-time friend Nuschi over the rainbow bridge. Just two months before her 12th birthday. At this sad time it is comforting to know that we found her the most wonderful home and she had a really wonderful life. Her owners Pia and Rolf loved her so much and spoiled her too. Kissy was always in 'pole position' but loved her friend Nuschi and the cats and later on when Monti joined the family they were a great team. She was so very special and so easy to love. Everyone could easily see the deep relationship she had with her owners and we are ever thankful that they allowed us to show Kissy at many international and national shows. We are very proud she did so well and earned so many Champion titles too. A wonderful experience was to have a litter with her. Kissy not only gave us great offspring, she was also the foundation for a very deep and invaluable friendship between us humans. We will keep Kissy timeless with the wonderful memories in our hearts.

15.11.1999 - 31.08.2011

Tabby

Is the Daughter of Devil and Diva, born in Obfelden in 1994. When she was a Baby Puss - she loved to play with her litter sister and brothers but also was great with the older cats and dogs. She always looked a bit dishevelled as though she d just got up out of bed. Tabby was a very lovable cat, who appreciated gentle handling, but she herself loved to stamp on you very hard so that you could even end up with big blue bruises. While doing this she looked at you with so much love that, of course, she was forgiven. She was also much loved by our dog& cat sitters. Tabby enjoyed going for excursions when she just jumped over the Puppy fence in the garden. She joined us during our time in France and came to Denmark for holidays with us. Tabby gave us a lot of joy and also nice Babies. When she became older she preferred to get some sun on the balcony and spent lots of time at her favourite haunt. Like her parents, she lived to a ripe old age.

20.4.1994 - 03.07.2011

Diva

The pretty one, who lived up to her name. The little princess and a connoisseur. She loved to nibble on fresh grass or to warm up from the sun. Diva could be very dominant in reminding us it was feeding time. At first tenderly with a stamp of the paws and if there is no response she gives an enthusiastic clout to Manfred's cheek. This woke him up to go and feed her. Diva was also a very good mum and cared a lot for her babies. When she was getting older, she became quieter and a deep sleeper. She had several beds to choose from, which she appreciated. Her last one looked like a mouse and for this new one she left the beloved cat room to sleep on it. Shortly after her brother, Devil, went over the rainbow bridge she followed him. Both lived to more than18 years of age.

Silas

With this Bobtail Puppy a life's dream was fulfilled. Astrid always wanted to own an OES, but she reached her 60th Birthday before her wish came true. Silas developed into a very nice dog and we wanted to be able to show him in the Ring. Astrid joined us when we went to the Euro-OES Show in Bayreuth, to see if her dog liked being shown. There he won the huge Open class with 33 males. When Manfred praised him - he rolled onto his back on the floor with his legs in the air to show his joy. This picture told her more than any of our promises that he would love the show ring. He was at 23 shows - 22 times placed, was 13 times first and 6 times second place. He finished the Lux. Junior Champion, the International and the Italian Championship. He and his sister were 4 times Best Pair in Show - at International Shows and at the Euro-OES Show. But also for us it was great to travel with him through Europe. Silas fitted in into our clan and was such a lovely pumpkin. We were also allowed to use him for stud. On his photo page you can find photos of his offspring, so his qualities have been given to his children and grandchildren.

It was always nice to see him again and to feel his endless joy when he met us. Of course he had his home in Altdorf with Astrid and Turi, who gave him a truly wonderful life. For this we are very deeply grateful to the whole family.

Devil

A Super Cat – for more than 18 years he brought so much joy into our lives . He and his sister Diva came to our home as little kittens and showed us how to conquer gravity – he could easily climb up the walls and jump on the roof beam.

But Devil was also a big charmer and almost to the end he always slept on my pillow. Together with Sam, our very first Old English, he shared the sofa, but also later with the other dogs, he dealt kindly with them. He also loved to travel by car with us, when we used to live in France and every 2 weeks went back to the Swiss German part. We even took the cats with us to Denmark for holidays, where he went outside and we could collect him easily and carry him in our arms . Devil was also the sire of beautiful kittens. With his pride of cats he was in good company and he was the Leader.

Even in his old age he loved to go on an expedition in the garden or to sunbathe on the balcony. For us it was such a nice compliment when he showed us how happy he felt to be with us. To pet him and hear his voice purring - this will be the memory we will hold forever in our hearts.

08.08.1992 - 09.10.2010

Kay

She was our godsend. We almost refused to believe that our wish of a baby out of Kinks and Wyllie could come true. We flew to England to see this litter - and she just stood out.
She was the smallest of the babies - but we knew that she was very special.

This prediction proved true. She was a dog of superb qualities, which have been valued by so many judges, according her phenomenal success in the showring. She won at shows with over 100 Entries and a lot of Champion titles. A real star, who sparkled so brightly. She passed her many endearing features to the next generations. She gave us wonderful puppies in two litters. But our 'little angel' - as she was called by her breeder, Alex, just spent her whole life giving so much joy because of her very special character. Even in older age she was still so sweet and was so proud of her freshly groomed, full coated jacket.

She was a wonderful age at 14 ¼ years, still very happy and fit and had her daily roll on the sofa. The image of this picture will stay with us forever. We are so extremely grateful, that we had the joy of sharing our lives with Kay and we believe she sprinkled us with her stardust.

Yazzy

It was worth waiting for her. We received a wonderful bitch.

Her absolute trust was endless. She always made us smile with her own special ways. You couldn’t overlook her. She was intense and wild and then unexpectedly showed her soft side.

She could manage to get stuck under the bed in our holiday apartment, needed our help to get out and was stuck again the next night.

She gave us two wonderful litters and enjoyed so much her Babies. Yazzy had an incredible empathy; sometimes we thought she could see into our souls.

What a wonderful dog she was. When she was gone it was hard to deal with the silence.

Sam

With him our dream came true. He was our “Smaus” a Super-mouse-Bear.

He was always in happy mode and ready for action. He loved to work and to please us.

Sam probably was the best trained dog we have ever owned. He fascinated everyone, was the star for the spectators at the dog shows, even if he was only our Mascot. At the Swiss Club Match he was awarded several times the Challenge Cup for best Amateur.

A rascal we learned so much from.

Paschi

The cat who chose us. We had just moved into the new house in Obfelden, when she walked in and settled on the sofa. She had found her new home.

Her Ex-owner, who we found months later, accepted her decision. He had moved to Zurich, and left the cat with his friends in his old apartment.

Paschi almost became a Wildcat and was completely matted. But she returned to her former beauty, even though she hated to be groomed. After a while she accepted the grooming sessions because she decided that we only wanted the best for her. Then thanked us with a deep affection. She even waited for us in the rain in front of the underground garage, to welcome us, when we came home from work. But of course she didn’t have to stay in the rain, she had a cat door to access the house while we were away. Paschi joined us on our walks in the village and came with us when we visited the neighbours.

Schnüffeli

This Lapkin (mini-bunny) was a wonderful birthday surprise for Romy’s 18. He fitted into a hand and was absolutely adorable.

He was able to do little stunts and went crazy for peaches. When we went on our Around-The-world-Trip he moved to Romy’s parents. There he had his own TV-chair that he defended with heavy floor tapping to warn them off when visitors wanted to sit there.
